Sleeping Beauty Tea
This tea is a China Sencha tea which is laced with blackberry and raspberry flavour with rose buds and heather pieces. It has all the benefits of green tea with the added berry flavours and the scent of rose and heather.
Beautifully fragrant, definitely one of our favourites!
Preparation
Use approximately 1 teaspoon per cup. Pour over fresh water at approximately 80C temperature and cover. Leave to stand for 2 - 2.5 minutes. Dispose of the used tea leaves.
Use with a tea strainer or tea pot to avoid the mess.
China Sencha tea
The better part of all green tea produced worldwide comes from China, the “motherland” of tea. Green teas – unlike black teas – are not fermented. The colour of the leaves varies from light green and shiny silver to a dark emerald green, the infusion
is light. Depending on the type of tea and the preparation, the flavour ranges from slightly tart to pleasantly sweetish and aromatic. In general, green teas are not prepared with boiling hot water, instead the water is allowed to cool down to the desired temperature. Recommendations for the preparation of green tea are as manifold as the tea leaves, growing areas and processing. Depending on the type of tea and personal preference, the recommended water temperature ranges from 70 to 90 degrees Celsius and the brewing time from one to three minutes. The rule of thumb is: the better the tea, the lower the water temperature and the longer the brewing time. Green teas should definitely be infused several times. Many tea lovers particularly prefer the second and third infusion.
Cup Characteristics
Citrus, floral & light with a pleasantly tart aftertaste

The tea I was looking for
I originally had this tea at a local tea room in Bishop Auckland, county Durham. I took a small bag of the tea home with me. Unfortunally, the tea room closed down and I couldn't get any more tea. All I remember of the tea was that it was called sleeping beauty and it had Rose's. So when I found this tea and it's from Newcastle, it made sense and thought I give a go. So I ordered the smallest bag. It arrived quickly and I was surprised how much was in the bag. A lot for 1 tea drinker. And the best bit, it's the exact same tea that I drank in the tea room. Definitely buying this again and it great value for money. Couldn't be happier. Thank you.
