Nilgiri has a light to medium body with a rich subtle flavour.
One of the few black teas that is suited to morning, noon and night.
Hailing from southern India, the word Nilgiri literally means 'Blue Mountains'.
Nilgiri is very forgiving and can't really be oversteeped.
It stands up well with milk and sugar.
Can be enjoyed with or without milk.
Preparation: Use approximately 1 heaped teaspoon per cup. Pour over freshly boiled water and cover. Leave to stand for 3-5 minutes. Dispose of the used tea leaves.
Use with a tea strainer or tea pot to avoid the mess.

Nice fruity tea with a a of a nutty after taste. Nice and relaxing at the end of the working day.
Lovely flavourful tea. So good to have it back.
Lovely tea and almost impossible to get anywhere else. Thank you Pumphreys for stocking it for all these years.
Delicious! Thanks for prompt delivery.
We are enjoying our latest purchase of Nilgiri tea. It has a light colour and a pleasant fresh taste which seems at its best if you let it brew for just over three minutes. Beats the Ceylon teas.
I was always fond of the Ceylon teas, until I came across Nilgiri in the Pumphreys kiosk in the Grainger market; it is better than Nuwara Eliya. I get it in 1 kg packets from the Pumphreys delivery system. Let it brew for 3-4 minutes , and drink it with a little milk - very refreshing.
