This blend consists of beautiful peaberry coffees from farms in Africa, Asia and Indonesia.
Peaberry Coffee occurs when one seed of the coffee cherry fails to pollinate. This then leaves the remaining seed within the cherry plenty of room to grow, which results in the seed resembling a round pea.
It is known for its acidic and sweet taste, one theory suggests that because the remaining seed does not share its nutrients it creates a more complex and interesting cup profile.
It is a natural mutation within the cherry and can create some beautiful coffees, however it is also good to note that the region, processing and care of people tending to the crop is a huge factor in high quality coffee in general. So picking peaberry coffee from high quality farms means you can enjoy the interesting and complex flavours at their very best.
