Renowned the world over as “The Champagne of Coffee”, Jamaican Blue Mountain is celebrated for its smooth, creamy body and perfectly balanced acidity.
Coffee first reached Jamaica in 1728 when Governor Sir Nicholas Lawes brought plants from Martinique. After the abolition of slavery in 1838, local farmers — guided by refugees from the Haitian Revolution — began cultivating the Blue Mountains, discovering the ideal conditions for this exceptional coffee. At Stoneleigh Estate in St. Andrew parish, beans grow at 1,100–1,220 masl amid mist, cloud cover and cooling sea breezes. Only the finest Arabica Typica is chosen, washed, sun-dried with mechanical finishing and roasted to a balanced medium. The result is a coffee of rare elegance and depth. Only beans from this precise region can be certified as 100% Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee. At Pumphreys, we’re proud to bring you this outstanding single-estate coffee — sourced and roasted with the same care we’ve given every bean since 1750.
